The Waismann Methodsm Rapid Detox from Buprenorphine Addiction

Buprenorphine withdrawal most dramatically affects opiate-experienced users.

Treatment Philosophy for Buprenorphine Detox

  • Surpasses conventional detoxification procedures that require a painful and debilitating withdrawal and that also demonstrate low success rates.
  • Reverses a patient’s physical opiate dependency without unnecessary suffering, fear, or shame.
  • Allows most patients to return to a productive life in a matter of days.
  • Eliminates the need to spend months in hospitals or rehab programs.
  • Differs from other methods of rapid detoxification that do not follow appropriate safety protocol.
  • Utilizes the most advanced medical biotechnology available today.
  • Distinguishes its success from all other detoxification methods with its cutting-edge research on the physical and psychological aspects of opiate dependency.
  • Recognizes opiate and Buprenorphine dependency as a central nervous system disorder, caused by continuous opiate intake.
  • Answers the depletion of natural endorphins in nerve cells due to an external supply of opiate.

Treatment History

  • Known as the most reputed and thorough Buprenorphine detox treatment in the country for the last decade.
  • Our doctors have unsurpassed experience in treating opiate patients under anesthesia (Rapid Detox).
  • We originated and first brought The Waismann Method to North America ten years ago.
  • Revolutionized the treatment of opiate addictions during the course of a decade.
  • Have treated the highest levels of opiate intake in the country — substitutions or lower dosage not required before hospital admission.
  • Our specialized physicians have performed all our procedures for the last decade. We do not hire inexperienced anesthesiologist to learn while performing detoxification on our patients.
  • Provide the highest success rate in the field of opiate dependency.
  • Have successfully detoxified thousands of patients physically addicted to opiates from Europe, Middle East, Asia, Australia, South America, and North America.

More and more patients come to us lately from other rehab or drug detox centers, which promised to detoxify them but instead provided them addictive substitute drugs like Suboxone!

Pre-Treatment

  • Our patients undergo thorough, individual medical pre-screening.
  • We receive patients weekly from all over the world in a fully accredited medical hospital located in Orange County, CA.
  • The duration of pre-treatment and procedure are based on each individual patient's medical and dependency history. At Waismann, we treat every patient according their specific medical and dependence, needs.
  • Admitted patient undergoes a comprehensive physical exam for a minimum of 24 hours before the procedure, and a brain chemistry assessment to determined other imbalances that could affect the well being of the patient.
  • Patients may spend 24 to 48 hours as in-patients to stabilize body functions while pre-medication is administered to achieve a smooth and safe procedure.
  • Specialized physicians in our hospital consult patients with certain pre-existing conditions to minimize risks and maximize positive results and comfort.

Treatment

  • Procedure requires minimal anesthesia (1- 21/2 hours) for maximal safety protocol. A decade ago when we started this procedure, patients would go under anesthesia for 6 to 8 hours. We have since perfected the procedure to minimize the medical risks, so there is NO REASON to allow patients to remain under anesthesia for over 2 hours.
  • Patients receive the utmost level of medical care (not at out-patient clinic, but) in an accredited hospital where cardio, neuro, gastro, pain and other specialists are available to our patients.
  • Protocol assures unparalleled safety via cardiology and radiology assessments, diagnostic tests, brain chemistry assessments, Board Certified Anesthesiologists, pain and other indicated specialists.
  • Unique and completely opiate-free treatment offers safe and most humane method, without using opiate-based buprenorphine ® derivatives like Suboxone or Subutex.
  • Waismann does not participate in addictive opiate-replacement treatment, or substitute a legally prescribed opiate drug for Buprenorphine ®.
  • Patients leave OPIATE FREE, unlike from other detox centers that prescribe opiate drugs like Suboxone ® or Subutex—from which patients will eventually need another detoxification.
  • Our Board-Certified Anesthesiologist performs the Waismann Method of accelerated neuroregulation (ANR) treatment while the patient sleeps comfortably under a light anesthetic in an Intensive Care Unit.
  • Special medications facilitate the cleansing of opiates from the patient's opiate receptors, while preventing adrenaline surges and dangerous physiological stress.
  • During withdrawal, we monitor and prevent surges of adrenaline (norepinephrine) that can squeeze the coronary and peripheral blood vessels (producing dangerously high blood pressure), which may go unchecked in other non-medical facilities.
  • Our anesthesiologists and ICU staff control this medically-induced withdrawal and closely monitor patients during the entire procedure.
  • An accelerated withdrawal syndrome occurs within a period of hours (not days as with traditional methods).
  • The patient has no conscious awareness of experiencing the withdrawal process during the procedure.

Post-Treatment

  • Upon awakening, the patient no longer has a physically dependency on Buprenorphine ®.
  • We monitored patients under our care at our hospital to stabilize their mental and physical condition.
  • Patients remain under our care with full medical assistance throughout the transition for another 48 hours after the procedure. (We would never risk our patients’ safety by sending them to hotel rooms immediately after a procedure to save costs.)
  • Detox includes 6 weeks of psychological follow-up with our therapist David Livingston.
  • Extended follow-up services at our treatment facility, Domus Retreat, help to support Buprenorphine recovery and patient transition.

(i) Sudden abstinence from opiates induces yet another traumatic disorder known as ‘withdrawal syndrome’.

(ii) Statistics show that one year following conventional detoxification, the vast majority of patients have relapsed. NOTE:  You need to cite the medical report here if you talk statistics!

(iii) Known opiate-based prescription painkillers include OxyContin®, MS Contin®, Suboxone® (Buprenorphine), Methadone, Vicodin®, Darvocet®, Percocet®, hydrocodone, tramadol or any other opioids, similar to codeine, morphine, and heroin.

(iv) Some rapid detox centers prescribe Suboxone, an opiate itself, as an opiate replacement, which can be as highly addictive with extended use. The Waismann Method relies on board certified anesthesiologists within the ICU of full service hospital, so that if any medical assistance is required it is immediately on hand.
